Chains Loosen, Pages Turn

Lord, I’m sorry again.

God has done so much for me
Sometimes the wind becomes heavy
The weight makes me uneasy
I look over what He has done
Focus on what He hasn’t
If we switched places, my feelings would be hurt
How many times have I been carried?
Too many.
I am the folks in the wilderness
Yelling, I’m tired of manna
I want to do what I wanna
He doesn’t deserve this version of me
But it’s what makes Him Holy
To be the Only One who will take me again
I’m sorry, Lord,
Even right now, I’m mad, disappointed,
But chains are loosening
Scales are increasing
Insignificance is losing its battle
My ways to Yours are minor
People pleasing is sitting alone in the diner
I no longer envision Your promise
I let the page turn on its own,
Your words, Your ways, Your purpose
