I have an “uncle”
Calls my dad and denigrates his kids
Family, right?
An “aunt” who masquerades her cheers
Members with the most mouths always lack useful skills
I tell myself to chill when I’m ready to shred
Another to the chin
Lord knows I’m ready to wreck
Remind myself
Can’t go back and forth with a man who’s already impaired
I’m trying to keep my heart from hate
Checked history, I already cleaned her plate
No longer that girl
But this nigga persistently offers his opinions
I can’t take life lessons from a man in division
“Uncle,” he couldn’t even be a brother
Mom held him down
Turned his back; now runs to her grave to give her crown
How can I expect any better?
Pathetic, to call themselves my family members
